The funeral was held at Elmo Hall in Elmo. The large hall was packed with people. Kyle and Kenzie carried flowers in the procession out of the hall.
Interment was at Dayton Cemetery, north of Elmo near Flathead Lake. The ceremony was mostly Catholic with strong elements from Kootenai culture and a bit of U.S. Military rites as well. A powerful mixing of symbolic language, all speaking to the importance of Roy’s life and his influence for good in the world, of gratitude for his life, and of hope for what lies ahead.
Much of the crowd came to the cemetery to share all of the ceremonies. Though Gwen had packed umbrellas, the day turned out to be mostly warm and sunny, though the sky got more threatening toward the end.

Valerie’s Christmas present this year was 5 rooms at Fairmont Hot Springs, near Anaconda. Warm water and a huge pool shallow enough for Azia to play for hours without much help. . .

Zoran has something to say.

Courtney in the big indoor pool.

Dev has baby duty while the larger kids are trying out the water slide, which emptied into the outdoor pool. Christina and Bryce just returned from relatives in Butte, who must have given him too much attention, since he was wary of people looking at him.

Michael holds Ahni, while Gage tries to get his attention. Lettie blocks the view of Deva. Israel playing Titanic.

Gwen, Maysa, and Valerie. Kenzie and Todd.

Pizza delivered to the room made for a relaxing evening meal--well, with 12 kids and 10 adults.
