St Marys Peak (July 15, 2006)

Photos from the 15 hour up and down to St. Marys peak.  Starting the walk at St. Marys lake and finishing at Mission Dam.

Our first stop had a nice vista.  I stopped to snack, while Eldon flushed away the afflictions of the physical world.

Stop number two, just to make some photographs. Here you can see Grey Wolf Peak Silhouetted on the right of the frame.

Summit at sunrise.

Eldon shows his game face in front of Sonielmn Peak.

Eldon Looking for the perfect picture.

A goats only as good as his hooves...after Sonielmn lake it’s nothing but cliffs and brush until the falls.  Definatly tests the ol patience hanging on rock ledges and being continually slapped with brush.  We came to impasses very frequently.  I remember standing on one of the smaller cliffs (20ft) feeling extremely delirous thinking, “I should just jump, It couldn’t hurt that bad”.  Usually we found a series of smaller cliffs to jump off or trees to scale down. After we made it down to the trail head we walked to the damn, jumped off the bridge a few times and hitched a ride back to St. Marys.
