Gathering The Umphrey Family Site

Israel’s got his first deer on Saturday evening. He and his dad went for a short afternoon/ nght time drive up by McDonald Lake. Israel shot it with his .22. It was a 3x3 whitetail.

The first shot was in the neck, but after he hit it, the deer ran a bit. They followed it and Israel shot a couple more times--first missing and then hitting it in the butt. (Zoran was right. When Israel called home to tell us he shot a buck Zoran’s first question was “Did he shoot it in the butt?” I told him probably not. I guess he already knows more than me.)
