What could be better than a half-dozen new kites, about ten cousins, and a March day in Montana?

While everyone else tried to catch the breeze, Daij was content to just run fast enough to get his kite airborne.

Azia found the whole thing is trickier than it seemed. Not only trees, but other kites and kite strings provided a steady set of challenges.

There were other distractions as well. Bryce considers (but ultimately rejects) his mother’s urgent-sounding suggestion that he leave the horse alone.

Sometimes, it’s all just the way it’s supposed to be. This happens most often for princesses, as Jenna well knows.

Then again, it all did seem about the way it’s supposed to be, for lots of people.

Some moments are good enough that not much else is needed.
