What better way to celebrate a new year than sliding down a slippery slope?
Michael and Valerie: Dev and Christa and Israel and Azia-Rain and Zoran: Eldon and Christina and Daij and Jenna and Bryce: Michael and Deva and Gage and Ahni and Donna (Deva’s mother).
After the sledding (about 8:30) we went back to the house for chile and talk. Michael K. set off fireworks before midnight, but the audience kept changing as people went in to get warm (temperature: 19 degrees and dropping).
We didn’t see Todd and Gwen, though all our driveways were plowed when we came back.

Israel heads back up for another run. There was only one significant wreck, when Israel crashed through Jenna and Christina. He wasn’t even slowed down, though Jenna’s world was knocked askew for a few minutes.

We met at the pine tree at the bottom of the sledding hill after dark, with hot chocolate and fried chicken. The night was still and relatively warm (or maybe it was the fleece pants under the wool pants that made me think so), and a soft snow added a holiday feeling.
