My kids were disappointed we didn’t have our annual Halloween Party (which really has become an annual event--this is the first time in five years we haven’t had one of some sort). Bad baby timing… we’ll have to get back on track for next year.  It also makes it seem more worthwhile to find costumes for everyone when they have somewhere to wear them since we only go trick-or-treating to about five places. The older kids did get to show off their costumes at the Spook Parade at school and Gwen and Deva and I all took the younger ones in their costumes to watch.

Israel, Dev and Azia went for the scary, gruesome look for their pumpkins this year. They were working on them outside and Zoran was just playing basketball on the deck beside them. I asked him why he wasn’t working on one and he told me “My dad won’t buy me any pumpkins; he only buys me basketballs.” This seems to be true because he did only buy three pumpkins but we have an awful lot of basketballs.

Grandma and Clark were helping Jim pass out candy and a bunch of us all ended up there at once. (Michael’s family got there after we had attempted the cousin group photo.) Azia, Bryce, Isaac, Daij, Allyson, Jenna, Zoran, Israel & Landon all made it into this photo.

Lettie and Ahni were little pirate ladies.

The church did their trunk-or-treat activity again. Israel (as Miike Meyers) helped pass out the candy from Mom’s trunk. Azia and Zoran just liked to eat the candy. I guess the dead Yankee is just supervising things.

Its amazing how difficult it is to get a simple group picture. Though none of the children would cooperate, Zoran went as Lightening McQueen, Israel was Mike Meyers, we had Azia as a mermaid (Ariel specifically, at the spots were she wanted to have red hair), and Landon was a pea (or maybe a catapiller). He was green and fuzzy anyway. Michael thought we should have made him a bat so he worked with Dev;s costume (as a Yankee). I thought we should have used his black eyes as a prop and got him some little silky shorts and a robe and made him a little boxer.

(I didn’t forget about the oldest guy. Israel wasn’t interested in having me take his photo.)
