After church on Sunday I took a drive through Ninepipe to see if many birds were visible. They were. Ninepipe seems quite an exotic island of bird life right in the middle of the valley, which I probably should visit more often than I do.
Click for really spectacular, larger view.
Quite a few Great Blue Herons were hanging around, wading and fishing.
The Canadian Geese are everywhere, mostly walking but occasionally swimming and flying.
An osprey heads back toward its nest with a large fish.
Leaving the water’s edge I ran into this gorgeous ring-necked pheasant.
The island was covered with seagulls--a primordial image of teeming life.
If you look closely, it’s all enchanted.
