Halloween Party Time

Israel consolidated his Halloween and birthday parties this year. So, he got to have a birthday celebration a few weeks early. Guests made Halloween art, tried bobbing for apples, had cake and ice cream, and attacked a pinata with a bat in the living room. It was quite wild, but I think he and his guest had fun.

Guest List: (as far as I can remember)
Zoran, Azia-Rain, Christa & Devlin; Valerie and Michael Umphrey; Gwen, Kyle, Kenzie & Maysa Couture; Eldon, Christina, Daij, Jenna & Bryce Umphrey; Michael, Deva, Gage, & Ahni Umphrey; Faye & Larry Garlock; John and Ellie Garlock; Marlene LaFrombois & Reggie; Steve Woll; Patti & Alexis Hawkins; Allyson & Emily Wheeler; Robbie & Loren Erikson; Sequoia King; Ayana Simpkins

a group shot of some of the costumed children

Daij is ready to attempt the bobbing for apples challenge-- which proved to be much more difficult than it looks.

Kyle and Israel put their mummy-wrapping skills to work.

Deva, Kenzie and Gwen help Azia & Maysa get in on the mummy wrapping game at Gage’s party.

Halloween Costumes

Well its not even Halloween yet, but with all the festive parties the kids have had a few chances to dress up.  I’ll have to update the page with more of the kids after Halloween.

Ahni the forest fairy-- she thought the leaves on her costume were especially tasty.

The Rooster (Azia-Rain) and Yu-Gi-Oh (Israel), ready to greet the guests arriving at the party.

Maysa as a very blonde girl. (Not reallyl a costume, but I didn’t get any pictures of her yesterday as the cute little pig.)

Azia the princess. (She rotates costumes with each new Halloween party. )

Zoran the lion all dressed up and ready for the party.

Zoran Miles

8 pounds/ 20.5 inches
October 13, 2004
5:51 pm

Here he is!
But, smaller, calmer, and whiter than his brother and sister. All the nurses were impressed with what a big boy he was, but he still seems just a scrawny little thing to me. And more like a baby than the other two who were already a week or two old by the time they were born. He actually sleeps.

At the end of his first day, all cleaned up and ready for bed.

The whole (big, according to Gwen) family a few minutes after Zoran was born.

Keilana at 4 months, October 4, 2004

She’s getting big.  I’m not sure how big, but over 16 pounds. We’ll find out for sure tomorrow!  Forgive the picture quality on some of these--our digital camera isn’t the best.

She likes her baths, always kicking and splashing.

Sweet potatoes are good!

More, more!

Just hanging out waiting for dad to get home (thanks for the cool shirt, aunt Christa)

Rebecca, Douglas, and Keilana (she quickly became disinterested in the whole picture thing, and had had enough of her bonnet by the end of sacrament meeting)

With the grandparents! Chuck and Katy Winter

Everybody (almost)!  Gabe and Laura Gomez, Kris, Kim, Becca and Mallory Stohl, Jared Clark, Rebecca, Chuck, Katy, Christina West, Tim, Clayton, Amanda. In front: Douglas and Keilana and Rachel Winter.  (Sarah Winter, Paul West, Grandma Clark, Brad Clark, and Bishop Shulzt all had callings to attend to).

Christina’s Baby Shower

(in honor of Iban or Edgar or Bryce or Helix, or....)
Septemeber 25, 2004
2:00 pm
Tammie’s House

Christina gets some help opening presents. Jenna was especially excited about the baby monitior.

Tammie measures Gwen’s guess for the diameter of Christina’s stomache as Maysa observes.

Christina looks at some of her new miniature baby clothes.

Gwen and Lettie look at some of the new baby clothes.

All the kids were a lot of help picking up all the wrapping.

Israel & Gage’s 1st Soccer Game

Israel didn’t feel like joining the game until the second half since he was still a little green looking from throwing up all morning, and their coach was still trying to help the team remember some of the basics: “Now we are running the other way!” “When you hear the whistle that means stop!” But overall the morning seemed to go well.

Once Israel finally started playing he got into the game-- at least in short spurts…

Gage is ready to make a goal. (Israel’s following the action closely off to one side.)

A few of the fans in attendance: Valerie, Azia-Rain, and Maysa

Israel defending the goal. This is now one of his favorite positions, after he got over the idea that “they are all kicking it right at my face!” (Although not visible in this photo, Dev was designated the goalie coach.)

Another one of the fans...Ahni also enjoyed the game. She was very happy when she could see the action.

Gage & Israel @ the Fair

The first big attraction for the boys was the tank at the gates. (Israel tried everything to get it started)

The YoYo was a favorate second only to the gravitron (which they must of rode twenty times). Gage-left, Israel-right.

Does anyone else want some cottoncandy?

The boys get ready for yet another ride.

Will the clowns hunger ever be satisfied?
