Page 31Make sure your personal narrative:
- focuses on a situation that caused you to change
- orients readers with a clear narration of what happened
- gives enough detail so the reader can understand why the experience was important
- follows standard grammar, usage, mechanics, and spelling:
- Have I avoided sentence fragments?
- Have I used commas correctly in a series?
- Are my pronoun references clear?
- Have I checked the spelling of words I’m unsure of?
