  American Romanticism

A = The presentation is exemplary

Organization: The introduction captures audience attention and gives a clear statement of purpose. The main part of the presentation is well organized, sequential, and well supported by detail. Closing provides a thorough summary of all of the major points. Demonstrates a rich vocabulary appropriate to the topic.
Content: Information is complete and well supported by detail, significantly increasing the audience’s knowledge of the topic.
Thinking and Communication: The presentation conveys deep and thorough understanding of the topic. The speaker’s main points are logical and persuasive.
Graphics: Images are clearly linked to material, well executed, and informative to the audience.
Presentation: Clear and logical navigation is easily understood by audience. Use of creativity keeps audience engaged.

B = The presentation is good, but could be improved in a few important ways

Organization: The introduction states the purpose but may not capture the attention of the audience. The main part of the presentation is organized and sequential with some supporting details. Closing provides a basic summary of most of the major points. Vocabulary is appropriate to the topic, with some lapses.
Content: Information is complete, with basic supporting details - increasing audience knowledge at least to some degree.
Thinking and Communication: Presentation conveys good understanding of the topic, with some lapses. The presenter’s main points may be clear, but may not be persuasive.
Graphics: Images selected are appropriate to topic but may not be well integrated into the overall presentation.
Presentation: Good overall navigation. Presenter is in command of topic, but slides appear slightly unfocused.

C = The presentation may show flashes of quality, but could be improved in several important ways

Organization: The introduction may be unclear or missing, or fails to capture audience attention. The body of presentation may be somewhat confusing, with limited supporting details. The closing may be unclear, or does not include many of the major points. The presenter’s topic-related vocabulary may be somewhat limited.
Content: Important information may be missing, or there may be few supporting details.
Thinking and Communication: The presentation seems to convey only limited understanding of the topic. The main points may not be clearly stated or may not be persuasive.
Graphics: Images selected may not enhance audience understanding, or are confusing.
Presentation: Navigation is uneven; delivery may be halting. Presenter is not completely sure of topic; appears disengaged.

D = The presentation is at a beginning stage

Organization: Introduction is needed to capture attention of audience. Body of presentation needs organization and supporting details. A suitable closing may be needed. The presenter needs to master key words and phrases relevant to the topic.
Content: The presentation needs to be reworked to include considerably more information on the major points.
Thinking and Communication: The presentation needs to be reworked, so that the main points are clear - thoughtfully and persuasively expressed.
Graphics: Better choice of images would enhance the presentation and lead to greater audience understanding.
Presentation: Organization of slides and clarity in navigation are needed. Presenter needs to convey more interest in the topic.
